Dr. Chad Higgins
Dr. Chad Higgins is originally from Fort Wayne, IN and graduated from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. After working as an associate veterinarian for three years in Fort Wayne and then five years in Cridersville, OH, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning his own veterinary practice when he purchased Amanda Animal Hospital in 1997. Since then, Amanda Animal Hospital has grown into a thriving practice by focusing on treating our patients just like we would want our own pets treated.
Dr. Higgins currently has two dogs and six granddogs. He enjoys spending time with his children, their spouses and two granddaughters. He also enjoys his hobby of playing trumpet in the Lima Area Concert Band, Grand Lake Symphony Orchestra, Grand Lake Orchestra Brass Ensemble and Night Jazz.

My name is Leah Krouse and I am an associate veterinarian at Amanda Animal Hospital. I went to undergraduate at the University of Findlay and got my doctorates in veterinary medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. I love my bulldog mix “Harlow”, two domestic short haired cats “Luke” and “Daphne”, and my three sphynx cats “Cora”, “Violet”, and “Boris”.

Hope
I work in a veterinary clinic and will soon be starting school to become a licensed veterinary technician. I’ve always had a deep love for animals, which shows not only in my work but also at home—I have a cat named Carrot who definitely keeps life interesting! Working hands-on in the clinic has been such a rewarding experience, and I’m excited to keep learning and growing in the field. Outside of work, I enjoy riding my motorcycle, which gives me a sense of freedom and balance. I’m passionate, compassionate, and committed to giving every animal the care they deserve—just like I would for Carrot.
